Sharon's Gifts

Good news, GOOD NEWS! riverwick candles can now be found at Sharon's Gifts on Main street in Wellsboro, PA. They have ten different scents in all three sizes available and the vintage citronella jars as well. We are beyond excited at the growth of our little company since January and are so thankful to everyone for all the continued support.

A big thank you to Aunt Sharon Rawson for putting riverwick candles on her store shelf. The display looks fabulous & we will continue to keep the shelves full & the new scents flowing! Rumor has it the Hot Sexy Man scent is the number one seller! Apparently everyone wants to have a Hot Sexy Man in their house...

Stop by Sharon's Gifts & pick up your riverwick candle today (and maybe a Vera bag to carry it home in - that's what we'd do.)

Bucks County Baskets & Ottsville Farmer's Market

riverwick candles will now be featured in "Bucks County Baskets" from The Kitchen Potager at Linden Hill Gardens, Ottsville, PA. These baskets feature selected local products that can be ordered and picked at The Kitchen Potager, or shipped directly. We are honored to have our candles selected to be in these one-of-a-kind baskets. Below is the brochure that comes in each basket with a write up on each product. See riverwick on middle right!

Also at Linden Hill Gardens is the Ottsville Farmer's Market, where you will find riverwick candle company one Friday a month until October.

July 9th
August 13th
September 17th
october 1st

This festive market includes local farmers, fresh produce, delicious fresh seafood, artisans and local chef demos. Believe me, you won't be disappointed with the food cooked over the open firepit in the center of the market! Angela & I both might go just for the food! There are also sheep & goats in a pen next to the market, baby Rhett especially enjoys them!

Juggling Act

Unfortunately, Karen's new job title as "stay-at-home Mom" & Candle Company entrepreneur didn't last long. One week to the day, after leaving my administrative position I received a phone call from my old boss. I was offered a promoted position in the company. After long thought & in-depth conversations with my husband, Joey, we decided it was an offer I couldn't refuse. So, back to work I go (but not before a little trip to London with cousin Buck!)

My available time to put toward our little candle company just got whacked BIG time. Luckily, I have the best, most devoted, hardworking, and understanding partner anyone could ever wish for in my best friend, and sister-in-law, Angela. She is the heart and soul of our company & I give thanks every day for all her efforts & enthusiasm. But don't worry - I'll still be pouring candles & helping her in every way I can! Life has just become a juggling act!

Playing Catch up

Ok, so where did we leave off? Oh yes, back in...May??...so, we have some catching up to do! Our tardiness is with good reason though, busy busy busy!
We poured candles like mad women throughout the month of May in order to prepare for the madness that June would bring. June 12th we took our candles to Forest Grove Presbyterian Church craft show. The weather was gorgeous & helped bring out the parishioners and locals to peruse our table.

Next Stop, PA State Laurel Festival in Wellsboro, PA - Home sweet home

This is the show we had been preparing all May long for, and boy are we glad we did! It was absolutely wonderful! Our families came down to the Green to help us set up our tent, tables, & candle displays. For our first "real" event, things looked pretty good!
Weather, atmosphere, food, and most importantly the PEOPLE! We had so much fun talking with new people, making new connections (with our new friend Dean aka "the boy next door" especially), and of course seeing all of our old friends and family. It was kind of like a high school reunion at times! The weekend couldn't have been more successful for riverwick. Sincere thanks to all those who helped set up, man the booth, and tear down. Also, a special thanks to all those at the Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce who helped put on such a spectacular festival! We hope to see you again next year!
